I love hip hop collectives because their albums never get monotonous.  Athletic Mic League is a 7 man crew representing unique styles across the board.  It consists of Buff1, Sonny Star, DJ Haircut ( who is now Mayer Hawthorne) , Grand Cee, Texture and Vital with production from 14KT.  I am straight hooked on 14KT’s beats.  I swear you could fall inside these beats, they have so much bass & depth.  One thing I really appreciate about AML is that they don’t have to talk about violence, drugs & bullshit to still have an edge to them.  It seems like a lot of the times you either have dope lyrics w/a corny delivery or you have such a raw flow & energy with some vulgar ass lyrics.  It’s nice to see that the best of both worlds can actually come together and create something ill.
