I’m not gonna lie part of this album sounds like it was made in someone’s basement, but as far as I’m concerned, that is part of the appeal. The tracks on here are so etherial and downright haunting at times. It’s aim isn’t to be an uplifting, pie in the sky type album but rather a mirror of the reality that we are all so very aware of. It’s interesting because we have come to know Aloe Blacc as being super smooth but this album is a lot more gritty and unpolished. And Exile brings intriguing beats in the surplus on here.
