If you don’t have some C-Rayz Walz in your life then you are missing out.  He has wordplay and punchlines for daysssss.  And he is a seriously unique individual lol.  That is just a nice way of saying that he is a crazy ass mofo, but I swear it’s in the best way possible.  He was the special guest at a Skribble Jam I went to one year and only like five of us even knew who he was, he was getting mad disrespected and I felt like I needed to slap some fools for not being onto the game.  But without missing a beat he stepped up and put on a dope show for those few of us who were aware of his level of dopeness.  I can’t stress enough how many times the tracks on this album will have you smiling, rewinding and smiling over and over again.  Dude is a genius with words and has a near flawless delivery.

C-Rayz Walz – ‘ Buck 80′

C-Rayz Walz – ‘ Dead Buffaloes’

Ten cool points just for the name of this album.  Murs, Eligh & Scarab allow us to escape the monotony of everyday life and take an adventure in imagination.  Now I consider myself a pretty smart girl and even some of these lyrics go over my head.  Not in a bad way though, in an amazingly intriguing and wonderful way.  In a way that makes me want to listen to these songs over and over again.  The poetic artistic nature of this album will have you on a whole other level.  I think its hilarious that even back when these guys were basically still in high school they were straight shittin on fools.  And still are pretty much, but this is a raw, grimy side of them that we rarely gain access to anymore.  I always knew Eligh & Scarub had crazy creative minds but I never realized how abstract Murs could be too.  And you can’t go wrong with production from Eligh who is basically a God among mortals when it comes to beat-making.  Everything the Legends touch turns to gold.  Plus the album cover cracks me up…gangsta gangsta!

3 Melancholy Gypsies – Beautiful Mind

Jean Grae is an enigma to me.  I follow her on twitter and she is always ALWAYS joking around.  A serious word rarely if ever is uttered from her mouth err fingers??  But then you listen to her albums and its like you are dealing with a different person.  A case of split personalities I guess.  The depth of her thought and experience of life is mind-blowing.  I’ve never heard a Jean Grae album I didn’t like but I just love the diversity on the album ‘This Week’.  Its dark & introspective yet has dabs of youthful innocence.  Its somber & deep yet humorous.  Basically its her, and its life, and its amazing.  Its one of those albums you almost feel guilty listening to, it’s like you are secretly reading someones diary or something.  I would say aside from Miss Lauryn Hill, Jean Grae is the quintessence of a brilliant femcee.  I can’t wait for her to drop another release because her level of creativity far surpasses those of her peers.
